What is it?
Winback Tecartherapy is a revolutionary technology used by physiotherapists, osteopaths, and sports medicine professionals. It stimulates the body’s natural self-repair mechanism through an innovative process that targets joint and muscle regeneration. Essentially, it helps accelerate healing and manage pain by leveraging radio frequency current technology.
What does TECAR stand for?
Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive.
How does it work?
Capacitive mode:
Winback generates an electric field between the treatment electrode and the patient’s skin. This field penetrates deep into the tissues, stimulating blood flow, oxygenation, and cellular repair. It’s particularly effective for treating superficial conditions like skin injuries, tendinitis, and edema.
Resistive mode:
The Winback electrode is placed directly on the skin. The current flows through the tissues, generating heat. This localised heat enhances circulation, relaxes muscles, and accelerates tissue repair. It’s commonly used for deeper issues such as muscle strains, joint pain, and chronic conditions.
Biological effects:
Tecartherapy triggers several beneficial effects:
- Increased Blood Flow: Improved circulation brings more nutrients and oxygen to the injured area, aiding tissue repair.
- Pain Reduction: By stimulating nerve endings and releasing endorphins, it helps manage pain.
- Tissue Regeneration: The heat promotes collagen synthesis and cellular regeneration.
- Muscle Relaxation: It eases muscle tension and stiffness.
Winback tecartherapy has three effects to accelerate rehabilitation.
It makes the plasma membrane permeable, stimulating intra- and extracellular exchanges.
Relieve pain
Inhibits the transmission of pain messages by saturating nociceptors. The result? Immediate and lasting pain relief enabling therapists to work more smoothly and efficiently.

Restore movement
Increases temperature helping to release muscle tension and improve vascularization to make movement easier. Gain freedom and range of motion.

Boost metabolism
Stimulates intra and extracellular exchanges. The natural resistance of biological tissues increases, creating diathermy which is used by the vascular/lymphatic system.
